  18.         Try setting S191 to a higher value, 130 or 132.  Higher values 
  19. in S191 cause lower data rates to be negotiated during the initial connection, 
  20. a lower data rate will decrease the need for either modem to initate a retrain 
  21. or rate renegotiation immediately after connection.
